Biyografi
Osman Parlak, Doktora çalışmasını 1996 yılında Cenevre Üniversitesi Mineraloji Bölümünde Tetis ofiyolitleri üzerine tamamlamıştır. Çukurova Üniversitesi Jeoloji Mühendisliği Bölümünde 1997 yılından beri çalışmakta olup, 2006 yılında profesörlüğe atanmıştır. Avusturya Bilim Kurumundan “Lise Meitner fellow” bursu alarak 1997-1998 yıllarında Salzburg Üniversitesi Jeoloji-Paleontoloji Bölümünde Post-doktora çalışmaları yapmıştır. 2001 yılında Cenevre Üniversitesinde misafir öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmıştır. Osman Parlak, Tetis kuşağı ofiyolitlerinin petrolojisi ve jeokronolojisi üzerine bir çok araştırma projesi tamamlamıştır. 2003 yılında Türkiye Bilimler Akademisi (TÜBA) Üstün Başarılı Genç Bilim İnsanı ödülünü, 2005 yılında TÜBİTAK Teşvik ödülünü ve 2013 yılında ise EAGE Normal Falcon Award ödülünü almıştır.
