Assoc. Prof. BİLGÜTAY KAAN ÖZTÜRK

Born in 1989 in Eskişehir, Bilgütay Kaan Öztürk began his viola education at Anadolu University State Conservatory under Yusuf Gençay. He continued his studies at Conservatorio F.A. Bonporti in Italy with a High Achievement Scholarship awarded by the Italian Ministry of Education and graduated with highest honors from Isabella Corbolini’s viola class in 2011. Supported by the Trento Alto Adige Autonomous Region Excellence Scholarship, he pursued his master's degree at the same conservatory and successfully completed his studies in Isabella Corbolini’s viola master class in 2014, marking a significant step in his academic career.

Throughout his artistic career, Öztürk has performed as both principal violist and section member in prestigious orchestras such as the Rome Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Ensemble Zandonai, Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, and Orchestra Nazionali dei Conservatori. Within this scope, he has given concerts in Italy, Vatican City, France, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czechia, Malta, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, and Iran. In addition to his performance career, he has specialized in Baroque music, collaborating with Prof. Hale Duru Basmacıoğlu and Prof. Burak Basmacıoğlu in this field.

In 2016, Öztürk was admitted to the Proficiency in Art Program at Anadolu University Institute of Fine Arts, where he worked under Prof. Burcu Yazıcı and successfully completed his degree in 2021. During this period, he gave numerous concerts with pianist Prof. Lilian Maria Tonella Tüzün and as a founding member of "Sepiolite Ensemble". His academic career includes positions as a Visiting Lecturer at Anadolu University State Conservatory between 2015 and 2022 and as a Faculty Member at Afyon Kocatepe University State Conservatory from 2021 to 2023. Since June 2023, he has been serving as a Faculty Member at Çukurova University State Conservatory, where he also holds administrative roles as Erasmus Coordinator, Vice Chair of the Music Department, Deputy Director of the Conservatory, and Director of the Music and Ballet Middle School.
