Biography
Ali HATALMIS, He was born in Kozan, Adana in 1971. After graduating from the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University, he completed his master’s degree and doctorate at the same university. His master’s thesis is entitled “On Mas'ûdî and his Historiography” (1998) and his doctorate thesis is entitled “Slavery and Concubinage in Early Islamic History” (2012). Between 1995 and 2012, he worked as a teacher and manager in several schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Between 2013 and 2016, he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Islamic History and Arts, Faculty of Theology, at Yüzüncü Yıl University. Now he works as a lecturer in the Department of Islamic History and Arts, Faculty of Theology, at Çukurova University. He is married with three children. Hatalmis is the author of the books "Islamic History I" and “Expert Teacher and Head Teacher” (2005) and “ Slavery and Concubinage in Islamic Society” (2012). He has published articles and reports in the field of Islamic history, culture and civilisation. He is also interested in scouting, sports, readings in recent history (eg. Muslim countries today) and international relations.
