Özet:

This qualitative case study is an attempt to explore transformation in Turkish EFL instructors’ cognitions considering classroom based assessment. In this regard, the main focus of the study is to reveal possible changes in participants’ cognitions regarding classroom assessment with the help of discussion sessions which can serve as awareness raising activities. That is to say, objectives of the study can be listed as a) Turkish EFL instructors’ cognitions concerning classroom assessment, b) to design and implement discussion sessions about classroom assessment in a university prepatory program in Turkey, c) to enrich the EFL instructors’ cognitions about classroom assessment, d) to detect changes in participants’ cognitions regarding classroom if there is any, e) to see whether the participants apply what they have gained during discussion sessions in to their classroom practices, f) to trace whether there is sustainibility of change in participants’ cognitions about classroom assessment.
