Özet:
It can be seen that several studies were made up to date to process wood materials. The growing gap between production and use of wood materials has yielded needs for new production methods in order to reduce production waste and improve the appropriate methods in mass production. For that reason a new method have been advanced in order to use a guillotine system for cutting fast growing woods such as poplar. Poplar has been used in cutting experiments with different cutter profiles. The aim of the experiments was to observe the effects of the cutter profiles on the surface quality and on the cutting force. The main object has been defined for finding the most efficient cutter profile in order to improve cutting system. Key Words: Timber, Wood Working Machinery, Riving Knife, Slicing, Cutting System, Inevitable Splitting.
