İhracata Dayalı Büyüme Hipotezi: Polonya Ekonomisi Üzerine Uygulamalı Bir Analiz

Özet

Dış ticaret ile büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi iktisadın var oluş tarihine kadar eskiye dayanmaktadır. Klasik iktisadın kurucusu olarak kabul edilen Adam Smith ile başlayan bu süreç özellikle 1980’li yıllardan sonra küreselleşme sürecinin ivme kazanmasıyla birlikte daha da önemini artırmıştır. Bu bağlamda ortaya çıkan ihracata dayalı büyüme hipotezi literatürde kendine önemli bir çalışma alanı edinmiştir. Çalışmada gerek milli gelir gerekse de ihracat büyüklükleri bakımından Türkiye ile benzer yapıda olması ve ülke özelinde ihracata dayalı büyüme hipotezini test eden çalışmaların az olması nedeniyle Polonya ekonomisi ele alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Polonya ekonomisi için 1995Q1-2017Q1 dönemleri arasında çeyrek dönemlik ihracat ve GSYİH verilerini kullanarak Johansen eşbütünleşme testi yöntemi ile ihracata dayalı büyüme hipotezinin geçerliliğini test etmeyi hedeflemektedir. Elde edilen bulgular ihracat ile GSYİH arasında pozitif ilişkinin olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Buna göre çeyreklik dönemler itibariyle ihracatta yaşanacak bir artış GSYİH’yı arttırmaktadır.

EXPORT-LED GROWTH HYPOTHESIS: AN APPLIED ANALYSIS ON THE POLISH ECONOMY

Abstract

The study of the relationship between foreign trade and growth is based on the past until the date of existence of economics. This process, which began with Adam Smith, who was considered as the founder of classical economics, had been increasing the more importance of the globalization process especially after the 1980s. In this context, the export-led growth hypothesis has gained an important field of study in literature. Both the few studies that tested the hypothesis of export led growth and was chosen because of similarities with Turkey in terms of the size of GDP and exports are two of the main reasons that why we chose Polish economy. In this direction, it is aimed to test the validity of export based growth hypothesis by using Johansen cointegration test method and quarterly export and GDP data between 1995Q1-2017Q1 period for Polish economy. The findings show that there was a positive relationship between exports and GDP. Accordingly, there was an increase in exports by quarterly increase the GDP.
