Özet

Closed form solution of the steady-state two-dimensional temperature distribution in a composite cylinder liner consisting of aluminum and SiC is analytically investigated. The material properties of the cylinder liner, where the SiC reinforcement is thought to be distributed homogeneously within the aluminum matrix, are determined using the Halpin-Tsai material model. Taking the boundary conditions in the radial direction as linear variables and in the axial direction as mixed type boundary conditions giving the relationship between heat convection and heat conduction not only provides the solution of a more realistic problem but also distinguishes the study from the literature. The two-dimensional governing equation of the temperature field is transformed into a non-homogeneous ordinary differential equation by the separation of variables method, and its analytical solution is obtained using modified Bessel functions and variation of the parameters along with the Gauss quadrature method. Temperature distributions in the cylinder liner for different volume fractions of SiC are presented and discussed on graphics.
