Özet
In October 2025, four specimens of the Malabar glassfish perchlet Ambassis dussumieri were collected from the Tuzla-Kara Göçer Drainage Canal (Karataş, Adana), located on the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Türkiye. The specimens were captured 400-500 m upstream from the canal mouth, at a depth of approximately 1.5 m, in brackish water conditions (salinity 14.17‰). Total length ranged from 71.7 to 86.5 mm and body weight from 3.46 to 6.67 g. This record represents the first confirmed occurrence of A. dussumieri along the Turkish northeastern Mediterranean coast and the second verified record from the Levantine Sea. The finding expands the known distribution of this new non-native species in the Mediterranean and demonstrates its northward expansion.
