As a result of the general elections held in Türkiye on May 14, 1950, the Democratic Party (DP) won with a significant majority and remained in power for ten years. This period between 1950 and 1960 is known in Turkish political life as the DP era. The government of the DP in Türkiye, which after 27 years of one-party rule brought positive results in the country's economy, especially in the industrial area, created a favorable environment for the country's economic and social development. Instead of the statist, protective and self-sufficient economic policy used in the period before the DP government, liberal policies based on a free market economy were implemented. In the context of these developments, the economy, especially agriculture, trade and industry, showed remarkable growth in Türkiye. The present study aims to document the development of Turkish industry and the civil sector during the period under the Democratic Party's government, using data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and additional research results, using a qualitative document analysis technique. The research results show that the development of the private sector, the diversification of the party system, and the liberalization that began in the 1960s initiated a civilizational process, as a result of which the world recognizes the Turks as a European rather than an Asian culture.
