Control Performance Evaluation of Pneumatic Proportional Pressure Regulating Valves Under Static and Dynamic Conditions

Özet

In this study, both static and dynamic control performances of pneumatic proportional pressure regulating valve have been evaluated. For this purpose, FESTO VPPM-6L-L-1-G18-0L10H-V1P type valve has been tested and its pressure tracking performances have been examined under different conditions. To test the valve, an experimental configuration has been proposed wherein a pressure sensor was additionally included to the valve. Since the valve was manufactured with three different control modes by manufacturer, real time hardware-in-the-loop tests have been carried out in each mode and the results have been compared. While the valve has responded successfully under static operating conditions, decreases in control performance have been observed under dynamic conditions. With this proposed study, it has been suggested that the operating performance of the valve can be upgraded with additional controller designs.
