Solar pond due to low cost and simple installation has the advantage of not requiring sophisticated technology in heat storage systems. A solar pond consists of three regions and density generally increases towards to the bottom. These zones are named from the surface to the bottom, Upper Convective Zone (UCZ), Non-Convective Zone (NCZ) and Heat Storage Zone (HSZ). It is necessary to minimize heat losses to improve the performance of solar pond and heat loss generally happens over the surfaces. In this study, cover design with glazed to minimize heat lost from the solar pond are numerically conducted to degrease heat loss caused by the evaporation and precipitation and obtained design are compared with experimental study to understand simulation accuracy of this study. As a result, it is seen that there is significant increases in the performance of the pond by selecting the appropriate cover.
