Abstract

Treatment of 4'-aminobenzo-15-crown-5 (1) (Figure 1) with diphenylphosphine in the presence of formaldehyde or with the phosphonium salt [Ph(2)P(CH2OH)(2)]Cl in the presence of triethylamine gives a novel aminomethylphosphine (2). Nickel(II), palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes of (2) have been synthesized and characterized by means of their P-31 and H-1 NMR and mass spectra and microanalytical data.
