Özet

ÖZET

İnsanların gereksinimleri doğrultusunda gelişen seramik; endüstrisi ve teknolojisiyle sanatsal üretim açısından da önemli katkılar sağlamış sanatçıların üretim teknolojilerini ve süreçlerini etkilemiştir. Geleneksel üretim yapan çömlek ustalarının çok yaygın olarak kullandığı seramik tornaları, seramik sanatçılarının da vazgeçemediği bir üretim aracı olmuş ve çeşitlenerek daha yaygın bir kullanım alanı bulmuştur. Geleneksel ve sanatsal çalışmaların şekillendirilmesinde kullanılan seramik tornalarında biçimlendirilen seramikler, günümüzde tasarım olgusunun da gelişmesiyle farklı bir anlam üstlenmiştir. Şekillendirilen ürünler zanaat olmaktan çıkıp, özgün sanat eserleri olarak değer kazanmıştır. Bu bağlamda bu bildiride; eserlerini şekillendirirken seramik tornasını kullanan tasarım, kurgu ve tekniğin bileşimiyle çalışmalarını oluşturan sanatçılardan Greg Payce, Wouter Dam ve Matthew Chambers sanatsal çalışmaları, üretim yöntemleri, sanatçıların ele aldığı konular, tekniği kullanma becerileri, ustalığı ve vermek istediği anlamlar irdelenecektir.

ABSTRACT

Ceramic industry and technology which are developed with the necessities of human, has provided important supplements for the view of artistic production, and affected the artist’s production period and the technologies. Pottery wheels which are used in common by the traditional potters, is a tool that also can’t be leaved. It is also diversified and became more common in use. Pottery wheel that is used in the shaping of traditional and artistic works, and also today the works made on the wheel are, have a different meaning with the developed facts of design. The works made on the wheel are unique art works more than to be craft works.

In this context the ceramic artists whom use the pottery wheel to create their art works with design, construction and with the combination of technique like Wouter Dam, Greg Payce and Matthew Chambers will be considered with art pieces, production technique, way of using technique, mastery and also the message which is hidden meaning.
