Children's literature, through fictional works, offers the opportunity to prepare young readers for real life. Young readers can shape their own behaviors by modeling the life experiences of the characters in the works they read. In this context, the qualities of the characters in children's literature are considered significant. Characters can appear in the stories as either dynamic and open or static and closed in terms of their behaviors. Moreover, characters stand out with the qualities they possess and the ways they solve problems they face. Indeed, the challenges encountered by characters in fictional works are important as they provide exemplary cases for young readers. Additionally, the ways these characters solve their problems can offer readers various perspectives.In this regard, the present study critically analyzes the types of static and dynamic characters in Şermin Yaşar’s book Lo by examining the main character's challenges and methods of problemsolving. For this purpose, a document analysis design was employed. The data obtained were analyzed through descriptive and content analysis.resolved. The findings of the study indicate that the main character, Lo, mostly resolves the problems she encounters through her individual efforts. However, the findings also reveal that she occasionally harbors divine expectations. Based on the findings, it is concluded that the book Lo offers ideas to young readers regarding paths or methods they can follow when facing life challenges.
