Özet

YAl3B4O12 (YALBO) is a remarkable material due to its chemical stability, high durability and wide band gap properties. In this study, thermoluminescence (TL) properties and its usability as a dosimetric material were investigated by doping Eu3+ ion to YALBO phosphor, which was synthesized by combustion method. TL glow curves of the sample irradiated using the Sr90/Y90 beta source were recorded at a heating rate of 2 ̊C/s from room temperature to 500 ̊C. Filter, reusability, dose response and heating rate tests were applied, respectively, and the most suitable optical filter was determined as IRSL-TL 565 nm. To evaluate the reusability of TL glow curves, 15 irradiations and reading cycles were performed, and the normalized TL peak area variation was found to be within ± 5%. In addition, the total TL intensity of Eu3+ doped YALBO phosphor in the glow curves obtained has a linear region with a regression coefficient of R2 = 0.999 for the beta dose given between 0.2 and 500 Gy. TL glow curves were investigated using heating rates between 0.5 and 10 ̊C/s and kinetic parameters of TL peak at 197 ̊C were determined using various heating rates method. Activation energy (Ea) was calculated as 1.24 ± 0.02 eV and frequency factor (s) was calculated as 2.69x1012 s-1.
