Özet

Granite is a kind of rock, used as covering and flooring material in the buildings. It has higher physical and mechanical properties than other rocks which can be cut and shined. Being a big grain size makes it more valuable and aesthetic. The granite production is realized in Marmara, Central Anatolian, Aegean, East Anatolia and Black Sea regions. In this study, the physical and mechanical properties, such as unit weight, uniaxial compressive strength, point load index, impact strength, surface abrasion, flexural strength and indirect tensile strength values of Bergama gray granite produced in Aegean, Aksaray yaylak granite produced in Central Anatolian, Balaban Green granite produced in Trakya and Giresun Vizon granite produced in Eastern Black sea regions have been determined by the laboratory tests and also the relationships between these physico-mechanical properties have been investigated.
