Özet

Providing new materials with superior properties and discovering usable industrial techniques for these materials has always been a noteworthy issue for manufacturing technologies. In addition, design and manufacturing conditions of existing materials need to be constantly improved. Vaporizing foil actuator welding (VFAW) is a welding method developed for joining dissimilar metals, which is an important issue, especially in industrial and academic fields. In this study, a welding prototype was created and tested in order to improve the applicability of VFAW, which has been introduced to the manufacturing field as a new welding technique, under laboratory conditions. The process of making VFAW using direct current (DC) capacitors has been explained. The study has shown that making VFAW using DC capacitors is possible.
