Abstract

Inguinal and scrotal pathologies are the most common surgical problems in childhood. Most of these pathologies are inguinal hernia, hydrocele, undescended testicle and testis tumors. Among the most common pathologies that cause acute scrotal pain and/or swelling are testis torsion, epididymo-orchitis and torsion of appendix testis. The timely and correct diagnosis and treatment of these disorders in time is of vital importance. (Turk Arch Ped 2010; 45 Suppl: 23-8)
