Transplantation of one's own teeth from one site to another is called dental autotransplantation. Because tooth transplantation allows dentofacial development and maintains alveolar bone volume, it is a viable treatment method, especially in young patients with missing teeth or tooth agenesis. Three cases are presented in which missing or agenetic teeth were replaced by autotransplantation of impacted teeth. This article illustrates the option of using impacted teeth as a viable reservoir for autotransplantation in young patients with missing permanent teeth. (Quintessence Int 2009; 40: 589-595)
