Throughout their life, women pass through various stages such as adolescence, reproduction, climacteric states and ageing; each of these periods has its specific physiological, psychological and social problems. Postmenopausal osteoporosis which is one of the health problems of climacteric period is the most important health problem. Osteoporosis is a skeletal system disease that increases the propensity to bone fractures related to the decrease in bone mass. According to the WHO criteria, osteoporosis is defined as a BMD that lies 2.5 standard deviations or more below the average value for young healthy women (a T-score of <−2.5 SD).
