Özet

The effects of IBA and activated charcoal concentrations for in vitro rooting in Myrtus communis were investigated. Shoot tips of M. communis were cultured and propagated on MS medium supplemented with 1 mg L-1 BAP. Shoots were transferred to MS medium containing different IBA concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 mg L-1). All media were duplicated with four different activated charcoal concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 g L-1). At the end of 6 weeks, rooting rate (%), number of roots plant(-1), average root length (cm) and average plant length (cm) were recorded. Percentage data were arcsine-transformed and analysis of variance was performed. The means separation was determined by LSD test. Positive effects on rooting and the development of active carbon was observed. The results obtained from all medium concentrations and combinations were recorded and discussed.
