In this study, the results of the face-to-face interviews with 795 households in 18 provinces are presented. It has been discussed whether there are differences among regions, differences caused by other qualities of enterprises and qualities of the households in terms of social security. In this study involvement into the social security system of people who live in the rural area and their ways of benefiting from this system have been considered. It has been determined that 203 of the families who are involved in the study do not have any social security, and 135 of them have health insurance thanks to possession of green card (health card for uninsured people in Turkey). 43.7% of the total green card owners live in the Southeastern Anatolia, and 22.2% of them in Eastern Anatolia. 193 of 457 producers are registered by Bag-Kur-farmer (Social Security Organization for Artisans and Self-Employed), and only 25 of them have agriculture insurance under SSK (Social Insurance Institution). According to the 2007 data, the total share of agriculture has been recorded as 2.3% for SSK and 32% for Bag-Kur within the registration to SGK (Social Security Institution).
