Effects of different pollinators to the yield and quality of strawberries

Abstract

In this experiment which was performed during 1995-97 autumn and spring period, in addition to Dorit, four other strawberry varieties such as Douglas, Oso Grande, Camarosa and Chandler were tried. In these varieties pollen production, quality of pollen, the quality characteristics (fruit weight, TSS, acidity, shape) of the berries were analysed. As the pollinating agent, in addition to bumblebees, honeybees were used.
