Özet

This study aims to identify trends and developments in AI-focused studies in

education. The study data were evaluated using descriptive and bibliometric analysis

methods. The data collected from the Web of Science database were analyzed with

Vosviewer and Google Sheets software. The main findings are as follows: (1) The number of

publications on AI in education has increased significantly in recent years (2) The United

States, China, and the United Kingdom are the leading countries in AI in educational

research, (3) The journal "Education and Information Technologies" has published the most

articles on AI in education, (4) The researchers who have contributed most to this field are

Chiu, Thomas K. F., Chai, Ching Sing, and Dai, Yun, (5) Chatgpt, machine learning, big data,

computational thinking, natural language processing, academic integrity, ethics, and

experiential learning are the hottest topics, and (6) There is a growing interest in the use of

AI in education. Overall, this study presents the current state of the field and a research

direction for future research. It is expected that the research will accelerate the research in

the field, guide new studies and contribute to the development of the field.
