Abstract

In chronic hemodialysis patients, vascular and soft tissue calcifications occur secondary to hyperparathyroidism and disturbances in calcium-phosphate metabolism. In these patients, vascular calcifications significantly contribute to cardiovascular events, which is the main cause of morbidity and mortality.
