Bauhaus School which was established in 1919 had created a design approach and an
education system associating arts, crafts and technology which has been influential
thenceforth. The school has an important place in design history not only with its creative and free atmosphere but also with the people who contributed to it. German architect and founder Walter Gropius, Swiss Johannes Itten, Hungarian László Moholy-Nagy, Russian
Wassily Kandinsky and many other world renowned artists and designers were among
the teachers of Bauhaus. The students of the school were also from a wide range of
nationalities and were formed not only by registered ones, but also by auditors and
guests. This article aims to examine the diversity of students, focusing on a number of
students including Semih Rüstem and his Hungarian friend Farkas Molnár, who were the
members of a group called K.U.R.I.. The group was established in 1922 under the leadership of Molnár, which was formed by students from seven different countries.
For the examination archival research was undertaken primarily concerning the roster of
students, as well as their memoirs and diaries. The examination is undertaken in two stages: firstly the quantitative aspects of Bauhaus students are derived followed by a brief evaluation of architecture programme and secondly some of the students and guest
students are discussed. The findings revealed that the curriculum, teachers and students all contributed to the unique atmosphere of the Bauhaus School, which was evident in the everlasting inspiration brought by the school.
