Abstract

In this paper a fuzzy logic based PWM current controller is presented for a shunt active power filter. The proposed controller is presented in detail and performance of the proposed system is validated through simulation studies. The advantage of the proposed controller over conventional hysteresis controller is fixed switching frequency, less switching loss and improved ripple content. Due to flexibility of fuzzy logic, the controller can be tuned according to required filtering performance. The proposed fuzzy logic based current controller can be used in similar other converter applications.
