Trends in the production and consumption of blueberries are increasing year by year all over the world. Currently, blueberry has become very popular in Türkiye due to its large number of phytochemicals, including abundant anthocyanin pigments, which make the greatest impact on its health functionality and are called “superfoods”, “functional foods”, “nutrient powerhouse” and “natural health package”. In Türkiye, blueberries can be consumed either fresh or processed. However, domestically produced blueberry fruit is used primarily for fresh sale rather than for processing. Only about one-third of the total production is used for jam and on a small scale for fruit juice. In addition, comparzed to other berries blueberry fruits are relatively suitable for exportation and available for longer storage potential and suitable for transportation. Türkiye is located between Asia and Europe and has various ecological conditions in seven different locations and suitable conditions for blueberry industry. For this reason, for various production techniques either in the soil or soil soilless, protected cultivation methodologies are available. Thanks to the blueberry breeders early-, mid-, and late-season cultivars of blueberries can be produced almost 9 months from February to November and this duration can be extended by applying suitable postharvest management. Furthermore, its popularity is to provide a quick return of entries with high income for the farmers. Recently, numerous research, including studies on cultivar adaptation testing, propagation techniques, and postharvest enhancements to berry quality have led to the success of blueberry cultivation in Türkiye. This study aims to give information about the blueberry cultivation techniques in Türkiye.
