Abstract

Soliton transmission through a silica based single-mode fiber having a cross sectional area of 50 mum(2) core refractive index of 1.46, nonlinear coefficient 1.22 x 10(-12) M-2/V-2 and dispersion of 16 psec/nm/km is realized. The shape of the input pulse is hyperbolic secant and pulse width is 25 psec.
