This study describes a new species of phytoseiid mite, Neoseiulella pentaporus Döker, Robin, and Kaur sp. nov. (Parasitiformes: Phytoseiidae). The new species was discovered in the Northwestern region of India, specifically in the state of Himachal Pradesh, at an elevation of 2700 meters. This new species is characterized by distinct morphological features, including the presence of five pairs of solenostomes on the dorsal shield and only two knobbed macrosetae on leg IV. A differential diagnosis is provided, comparing the new species to closely related species within the tiliarum species group, including N. vollsella (Chaudhri, Akbar & Rassol) and N. prunus (Denmark & Rather), to highlight the taxonomic differences.
