It is unthinkable that languages do not contain sentence styles in terms of grammar or rhetoric, and this is one of their characteristic features. Arabic, which is among the richest languages of the world, also has different styles suitable for its own structure. Although the term style is a term that is sometimes used in the science of rhetoric, in this study, sentence styles are discussed in terms of syntax. In the first five hundred years of Hijri, how the dictionaries written according to the mahraj system processed the sentence styles were evaluated.

In the research, in which the qualitative research method was used in general and supported by the source scanning and exemplification techniques, the dictionary named Kitāb al-ʿAin belong to al-Khalil ibn Ahmad (d. 175/791) and other dictionaries with the origin system, which were written in three hundred years of Hijri, were taken as the basis. In the related works, besides the explanations and comments of the authors about the sentence styles, the evaluations and quotations of other authors have also been tried to be reflected. While the sentence styles are conveyed as they are in dictionaries, frequently repeated dictionary or author names are mentioned in the text and footnotes and distributed, and the verses, poems, sample sentences and expressions given for istishhad are reflected in their Turkish.
