Most important issues in greenhouse
cultivation are to reduce costs in production, to minimize environmental
impacts, to ensure sustainability in obtaining energy, and to reduce external
dependency in energy. For these reasons, it is important to popularize
renewable technologies in order to use renewable energy potential in our
country more. Kozaklı geothermal area is the most important region in terms of
geothermal energy potential in Nevşehir province. There are 30 geothermal wells
in Kozaklı geothermal area. In these wells, fluid temperature varies between
30-105 ℃ and flow rates between 1.5-95 l/s. Current
main usage area of geothermal resources in Kozaklı region is geothermal
greenhouse cultivation.
In this study, it is aimed to
increase efficient use of geothermal resources in Nevşehir Kozaklı region for
greenhouse heating. For this purpose, heating loads were determined by taking into
account example of a hydroponic tomato production plastic greenhouse with
gothic style and butterfly shaped roof ventilated, with polycarbonate (PC) side
edges and normal polyethylene (PE) plastic cover on side and roof. If indoor
air temperature of greenhouse is 12 ℃, the highest (1566 kW) and average (1502
kW) heat loads for greenhouse occur in February. The lowest, highest and
average heat loads for winter season (December-January-February) were
determined as 1340 kW, 1445 kW and 1391 kW, respectively. If indoor temperature
is 15 ℃, the lowest, highest and average heat loads for winter season
(December-January-February) are determined as 151 W/m2, 163 W/m2
and 157 W/m2, respectively. In order to keep the greenhouse indoor
temperature constant at 15 ⁰C, minimum, maximum and average heat loads for
greenhouse in an area of
