Bireyler bulundukları fiziki mekân ile sürekli bir iletişim ve etkileşim halindedir. Kişi mekânı yönlendirirken, mekânda tasarım öğeleri aracılığıyla kişiyi yönlendirmektedir. Bu nedenle fiziksel mekânı oluşturan boşluk, form, ışık, renk, doku, malzeme gibi birçok tasarım öğesi kullanıcının mekân deneyiminde etkilidir. Mekân tasarımının önemli unsurlarından biri olan renk öğesi çalışmanın kapsamını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında mekân tasarımlarında rengi ana unsur olarak kullanan mimar Teresa Sapey’in tasarım sürecinde renk kullanımını etkileyen faktörler irdelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada Teresa Sapey'in farklı mekânsal özelliklere sahip dört mekân örneği incelenmektedir. Seçilen mekân örnekleri, Waldron Faulkner’in ‘Mimarlık & Renk’ isimli çalışmasında 10 başlıkta topladığı; psikolojik etkiler, sembolik-işlevsel anlamlar, mekânın işlevine uygunluk, mekânın boyutları, şartlanmış refleksler, kullanıcı kimliği, moda, dönem stilleri, yaş-cinsiyet ve coğrafi bölge-toplumun değer yargıları-inanç etkisi gibi renk seçimini etkileyen faktörler çerçevesinde irdelenmektedir. Literatürden elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda, Teresa Sapey’in tasarımlarında renk kullanımına ilişkin söylemleri, Waldron Faulkner’in on başlıkta topladığı kriterler kapsamında analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerde tasarımcının renk kullanımında ağırlıklı olarak kullanıcı kimliği, mekânın işlevine uygunluk, psikolojik etkiler, coğrafi bölge ve sembolik-işlevsel anlamların ön plana çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma iç mekân tasarımında renk kararlarının mekân atmosferini oluşturmada ve mekân deneyimini yönlendirmede etkisini ortaya koymaktadır. |
Individuals are in constant communication and interaction with the physical space they inhabit. While the person directs the space, the space directs the person through design elements. Therefore, many design elements that make up the physical space such as void, form, light, color, texture and material are effective in the user’s spatial experience. The element of color which is one the important components of spatial design, constitutes the scope of the study. Within the scope of the study, the factors affecting the use of color in the design process of the architect Teresa Sapey, who uses color as the main element in space designs are examined. In the context, four spatial examples of Teresa Sapey’s Works with different spatial characteristics are analyzed in the study. The selected spatial examples are examined within the framework of the factors affecting color selection, gathered under ten headings in Waldron Faulkner’s study titled “Architecture & Color”; such as psychological effects, symbolic-functional meanings, suitability to the function of the space, dimensions of the space, conditioned reflexes, user identity, fashion, period styles, age-gender and the influence of geographical region, social values and beliefs, In line with the data obtained from the literature, Teresa Sapey’s statements regarding the use of color in her designs are analyzed within the criteria gathered under Faulkner’s ten headings. In the obtained data, it has been determined that in the designer’s use of color, user identity, suitability of the function of the space, psychological effects, geographical region and symbolic-functional meanings come to the forefront. The study reveals the effect of color decisions in interior design on forming the atmosphere of the space and directing the spatial experience. |
