Abstract
The content of the Teaching Practice I-II courses, which is an important part of the undergraduate education that the teacher candidates attend, should be rearranged according to the requirements of information age and the qualifications expected from the teacher of the future. This idea has been decisive in the selection of the subject of this research. The aim of the current study is to determine the educational needs of classroom teacher candidates for internship courses. In this context, the participants are senior undergraduate students from division of elementary education of a state university in Adana-Turkey. The research, aiming to determine the educational needs of the students for Teaching Practice I-II courses, is designed as a quantitative survey. The problem of the study is “What kind of knowledge and experiences do the teacher candidates need in the context of the Teaching Practice I-II courses?” The data will be collected by the open-ended survey question form developed by the researchers. The survey contains questions to determine the level of needs for knowledge and experience in the context of the Teaching Practice I-II courses. Data collected by the survey will analyze descriptively in order to frequency and percentage of the answers which are obtained from the teacher candidates. The results of the analysis will be presented in comparison with the results of other researches obtained through literature review. Suggestions based on the findings of the study will be discussed in the last section.
