Özet

Plant tissue culture (PTC) remains a fundamental platform for plant biotechnology, yet progress in reproducibility, scalability, and genotype responsiveness is still constrained by empirically derived media, limited chemical diversity, and poor control over hormone dynamics. This review examines recent innovations that are reshaping nutrient media design and chemical control in PTC. First, it highlights strategies to modulate cytokinin homeostasis, including inhibitors of cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase and glucosylation, as tools to increase endogenous cytokinin activity and improve morphogenetic outcomes. Second, it summarizes advances in cytokinin and auxin chemistry, with emphasis on topolins and related derivatives, novel N9-substituted compounds, improved solubility designs, and emerging auxin analogues that expand the developmental toolkit beyond conventional plant growth regulators. Third, it discusses nanoporous/macroparticle-based systems for controlled hormone release, which provide more stable local concentrations and enable spatiotemporal regulation of organogenesis. Finally, it reviews computational and data-driven approaches to media formulation, including ion-specific nutritional analysis, machine learning, surrogate-based optimization, and open-access decision tools for protocol development. Together, these advances support a shift from static, one-size-fits-all media recipes toward predictive, modular, and physiologically aligned PTC workflows, with strong potential to improve recalcitrant species culture and industrial micropropagation.
