Tear strength of woven fabrics is all important performance property although it depends oil fabric utilization area most of the fabrics is expected to have high tear strength. In this study, tear strength of cotton woven fabrics with yarn dyed is obtained experimentally and determine empirical equations for predicting them. 100% cotton woven fabrics in twill and plain weave with different number of thread per cm and three different thread linear density were produced, pre-treatment processes were applied to these fabrics and tear strength of these fabrics were determined experimentally. Statistical analyses methods were applied to the experimental results using SPSS package programme, multiple regression equations with respect to weave type were determined with tear strength of the fabrics for predicting. A comparison was performed with tear strength values of the empirical equations and experimental datas, the results were evaluated.
