Özet

Pathways to the master stroke of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are through competitiveness and innovative actions. Considering the significance of innovative solutions for SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and building collaborative mechanisms across government-society interactions, this chapter aims to reveal multi-linkages among SDGs, innovation, and sustainable competitiveness. On that account, a ‘Regularized Generalized Canonical Correlation Analysis’ optimization algorithm has been performed with a full design matrix and optimal shrinkage parameters based on the Schäfer and Strimmer approach. In the analyses, 78 countries have been covered, and data collection is grounded upon 2023 index reports. According to the findings, there exists a strong relationship among the covered blocks, with a high average variance explained (approximately 0.92). Optimal policy should be built on governance, SDG9, SDG16, information and communication technologies, and SDG12 factors. While governance, intellectual and social capital are key components of sustainable competitiveness, the variable “economic sustainability” was excluded from the analysis as it proved statistically insignificant and thus offered no meaningful contribution to the relationships under consideration. Notably, ‘knowledge workers’ is the only significant indicator within the business sophistication pillar of innovation inputs. These results imply that governance efficiency should head for infrastructure, institutions, and employment in knowledge-intensive services heavily.
