Abstract

The opening roller, which is one of the three most important items in the OE rotor spinning system, influences yarn quality and spinning performance. In addition to the raw materials, roller speed and type are critical. In this work, seven different polyester/waste (cotton noil, recycled fibers, flat waste, etc.) rotor yams are produced at seven different opening roller speeds on a laboratory-type OE rotor spinning machine (Quickspin), and the influence of opening roller speed on yam quality is examined. A high opening roller speed is recommended, while spinning waste content does not provide the expected results.
