The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is the name of a diesel engine exhaust emission control structure used to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions with the aid of catalysts and reductants. Researchers have carried out many searches on reducing NOx emissions by working on reductants and catalysts. In particular, there are studies that produced catalysts using different nanometals. Investigations of the physical and chemical structures of catalysts using different characterization analysis methods are available in the literature. In this study, iron (III) nitrate nonahydrate (Fe (NO3)3·9H2O), titanium dioxide (TiO2), and cerium (III) acetate hydrate (Ce (CH3CO2)3·xH2O) nanoparticles were used in the production of powder catalysts. It is aimed to obtain thermal stability by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) results by forming iron-based catalyst and cerium-doped iron-based catalyst. After the samples were heated from 25 ºC to 1100 ºC at a rate of 20 ºC/min in nitrogen environment, the weight losses of the samples were determined according to the temperature. The analysis results indicate that the addition of Ce nanoparticles to the catalyst increases the weight loss approximately 4.72 times in percent.
