This study has been conducted at the experimental area of the Ankara University Agriculture Faculty Field Crops Department, to investigate the effects of mixture ratios of and sowing methods on forage yields of crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.) and Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum cv. Caramba) mixture under Ankara conditions in 2011-2012 growing years. In the study, the five mixture ratios (75, 50, 25 percentages, pure stands of two species) and four sowing methods (mixtures in same rows, alternate rows, perpendicular rows and broadcast sowing) were used. Field trials were arranged in the complete randomized split plots design with three replications, as sowing method as main plots and mixtures ratios as sub-plots. In this study, plant height, botanical compositions, green grass yield, hay yield, dry matter yield, and crude protein content were investigated. As a result, 25 Crimson clover:75 Italian ryegrass (K-3) mixture and perpendicular rows sowing (E-3) were the best treatments in terms of many number of characters studied.
