Abstract

In this study, a theoretical model which will be used for calculating average count of the slub yarn widely used recently in the pre-production stage. In order to investigate the usability of the model, the yarn samples were produced by using the ring spinning frame on which was mounted an original electronically controlled slub attachment developed by our team to produce slub yarn and the correlation between the predicted and the actual counts were investigated. As a result of the correlation analysis, it is stated that there is a very strong correlation (R=0,984) between predicted and actual values. The average deviation of linear density is Ne 1,1 for all samples. As a result, it is proved that the developed theoretical model can be used to estimate the count of slub yarn. It is concluded that the prediction of average count of slub yarn will be useful for production scheduling and efficiency in production, automation and design about slub yarn in terms of technology.
