Adana İli Tıbbi Atık Yönetimi: Sorunlar ve Çözüm Önerileri

Özet

Tıbbi atıkların yönetimi ve bertarafı, Türkiye’de dahil olmak üzere gelişmekte olan tüm ülkelerin ortak sorunlarından birisidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Adana kentinde tıbbi atık yönetimini incelemek, karşılaşılan problemleri belirlemek ve çözüm önerileri geliştirmektir. Bu çerçevede, hem mevcut araştırmaların ve yayınların gözden geçirilmesi, hem de yapılan anket çalışmalarının istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmesi sonucunda, Adana kentinde üretilen tıbbi atıkların mevcut durumda nasıl yönetildiği tespit edilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan araştırmada Adana Büyükşehir belediye sınırları dahilinde, sağlık kuruluşlarında oluşan ortalama yıllık tıbbi atık miktarı 1.200.000,0 kg, günlük ortalama tıbbi atık miktarı 3.300,0 kg ve yatak başına düşen ortalama günlük tıbbi atık miktarı ise 0,68 kg’dır. Yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda Adana kentinde oluşan tıbbi atıkların bertarafı için en uygun yöntem olarak buharla sterilizasyon sonrasında düzenli depolama önerilmiştir.

The management of the health-care wastes is among the significant problems in Turkey as it is in most of the developing countries. The objective of this study is to investigate the methods of the medical-care waste in the Adana, to determine the possible problems and solution to these problems. Within this framework, an overview and evaluation of the current practices about the health-care wastes on published data and existing studies, and evaluation of the results of the questionnaire surveys statistically conducted. According to the survey carried out, within the borders of the Greater Municipality of Adana, the average amount of medical wastes in sanitary institutions found to be 1,200,000.0 kg annually, the average medical waste found to be 3,300.0 kg per day and average waste for each bed found to be 0.68 kg per day.
