Abstract

In this study ZnO nanopowders were produced by hydrothermal synthesis method at varying concentrations of surfactant. Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) was used as surfactant in all samples. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to determine the morphological properties of the synthesized ZnO nanostructures and X-ray diffraction method was used to determine the structural properties. A thin layer of ZnO nanorods were spread on transparent conducting FTO coated glass plate using Doctor Blade method and ZnO-DSSCs were fabricated. The I-V response of the fabricated ZnO-DSSCs was measured under simulated sunlight with the radiant power of 100 mW/cm2 at AM 1.5 (1 sun) conditions. The influence on the different parameters such as open circuit voltage short circuit current, fill factor, and power conversion efficiency of the these DSSCs were analyzed.
