The quality of cotton fiber significantly impacts the quality of cotton textiles. In spinning mills, understanding fiber properties and selecting the appropriate raw materials suitable for the specific spinning method are crucial for optimizing spinning performance, efficiency, quality, and cost. Turkey meets its cotton requirements through both domestic production and imports. This study examines the fiber properties of cotton from six different regions, both domestic and imported, commonly used in Turkey. Fiber properties were measured using Uster HVI and Uster AFIS modular testing devices. The test results were evaluated comparatively with Uster Statistics and interpreted through statistical analysis. Additionally, characterization analyses, including TGA, DSC, XRD, and FT-IR were performed on the cotton fibers, and the results were assessed. The study has revealed that cotton fibers grown in different regions exhibit variations in fiber properties, even when ginned using the same method.
