Özet

In nowadays woven fabric design it is aimed to design unusual, new and remarkable fabrics in view of fashion. Fabric fashion is shaped by fashion trends changing 2 times a year which is affected by changes in social, cultural and economic situations. In recent years surface effects are more prominent than the patterns on fabrics and designers tend to use experimental materials and methods. The innovative and research based fabric design was introduced to the fashion world early in the 1980s by the Japan designers who worked on traditional textile techniques with technology specialists who updated synthetic materials. Experimental materials and methods bring piled, hairy, metallic, transparent and voluminous views onto the woven fabric surfaces. In this research surface effects in woven fabric design are studied to create metallic-reflective, transparent-voluminous, formable views and experimental textures.
