Abstract

Embedding critical and creative thinking, communication and collaboration skill (4Cs) into subject area teaching and learning has become an instrument of professional development of the teacher education

program. This paper discusses the concepts of the 4Cs (critical thinking, collaboration, communication & creativity) which are introduced as main skills of the 21st century. It also provides most commonly referred

frameworks and explains the principles of them and challenges of their integration into teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms by sharing teaching and learning strategies of 4Cs.
