In this study, filter, reusability, dose response and heating rate tests were carried, respectively, in order to characterize MgAl2O4 phosphor, which was produced using the combustion synthesis, by TL method. TL glow curves of MgAl2O4 phosphor in the form of 30 mg pellets exposed to beta radiation were recorded between room temperature and 500 °C using a heating rate of 2 °C/s. According to the filter test results, the most ideal optical filter was found to be IRSL-TL 565 nm and all following TL analyzes were made using this filter. Looking at the TL glow curve, it is seen that it has a peak around 97 ℃. For the reusability test, phosphor was analyzed after 20 repeated TL readouts and the change was determined to be within ± 5% confidence interval. In addition, dose response curves were examined by administering a beta dose of 0.1 to 60 Gy, and it was determined that the material reached saturation starting from a beta dose of 30 Gy. For the heating rate test, the glow curves obtained using the heating rates between 0.5 and 5 ℃/s were examined in detail. The kinetic parameters of the TL peak at 97 °C were analyzed by various heating rates (VHR) method, activation energy (Ea) was calculated as 0.723 ± 0.01 eV and frequency factor (s) was calculated as 1.17x109 ± 1.79x102 s-1.
