Abstract

The most frequently reported infectious disease in Syrians migrating to Europe is leishmaniasis and colonization with antibiotic resistant gram negative bacteria. About 3.5 million Syrian people have immigrated to Turkey due to the civil war in Syria since the year 2011 according to the data of Ministry of Interior of Turkey  The aim of this study is to

determine Leishmania spp in Turkish patients (TP) and Syrian patients (SP) with CL. This is the first comprehensive study identifying the Leishmania spp in Hatay, which is one of the most migration-receiving regions from Syrian citizens in Turkey.
