Özet

In this study, some reproductive parameters of the non-native silver crucian carp (Carassius gibelio) in Seyhan Dam Lake (Southeastern Mediterrenean) were investigated. Samplings were conducted monthly through trammel nets between June 2013 and May 2014. From a total of 540 individuals investigated, 10 (1.85%) were males and 530 (98.15%) of them were females. The length at first maturation was detected as 16.8 cm TL. According to maturation stages of female gonads, ripe females were found to be present between February-July. Intense spawning periods was inspected in spring months of March, April, and May. The biggest egg diameter was found as 1.32 mm in March and the highest number of eggs was found as 347550. Silver crucian carp displayed a great reproductive output in Seyhan Dam Lake and the given reservoirs have been completely invaded.
