Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is an autoimmune syndrome leading to demyelination and inflammation of the peripheral and cranial nerves. Miller-Fisher syndrome (MFS) is a clinical entity which has an acute onset of ataxia, external ophthalmoplegia, areflexia and is a rare variant of GBS. MFS often appears after a viral infection and is a benign disease that improves with intravenous immunoglobulin treatment in 8-10 weeks. In our case report, we presented a 16-year-old patient with ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexia that was diagnosed clinically as MFS and showed improvement with intravenous immunoglobulin treatment.
